I spent years working with Wordpress and endured endless headaches with each update. I began to long for a better option that was more user-friendly. Then in 2018, I discovered Weebly is now a self-hosted option, leaving me to wonder, Weebly vs. Wordpress, which is better as a self-hosted option? Wordpress frustrates me.There is no guarantee on any theme or addon to work with each version of Wordpress. Every time anything is updated, your website potentially drops to its knees until a fix is offered. Any themes or add-ons for Weebly are built by Weebly specifically to take advantage of the full set of Weebly's own capabilities — and since Weebly people built both, they know best what those capabilities are. I built this website on the self-hosted version of Weebly available in cPanel on HawkHost, and I love it! No more theme and add-on compatibility headaches — it just works as it should! Sure, there are some limitations and Weebly can't do everything, but I don't need it to. What it does do, it clearly excels at! I don't need an "okay" platform to build and maintain my website, I need one that is excellent. Give Self-Hosted Weebly a Try!Frankly, Wordpress has its own set of limitations, but, unlike Weebly, it tries to do everything web-related for everyone. I'd love to hear from you in the comments section below. Were you aware of Weebly as a self-hosted option before now?
